Fabricius di Taman Kehati Kiarapayung, Jawa Barat">Eksplorasi potensi budi daya lebah madu Apis cerana Fabricius di Taman Kehati Kiarapayung, Jawa Barat</self-uri><abstract><p>Penelitian ini mengkaji potensi budi daya lebah madu Apis cerana Fabriciusdi Taman Kehati Kiarapayung, Jawa Barat. Observasi dilakukan dengan memasang 39 kotak sarang lebah di berbagai lokasi serta mengamati flora yang menjadi sumber pakan lebah. Sebanyak 50 jenis tanaman dari 24 famili teridentifikasi sebagai sumber pakan lebah. Dari 39 kotak sarang, hanya 4 kotak yang berhasil dihuni oleh koloni lebah dan menunjukkan tingkat keberhasilan 10,3%. Pertumbuhan koloni yang terpantau berkisar 3–9 sisir madu per sarang. Kendala utama dalam budi daya adalah ketersediaan pakan yang menurun pada musim kemarau dengan curah hujan yang sangat rendah, serta gangguan hama, seperti ulat lilin (Galleria mellonella), tawon (Vespasp.), dan semut (Formicidae). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa budi daya lebah madu A. cerana memiliki potensi untuk diterapkan di lokasi tertentu dengan ketersediaan pakan yang cukup dan manajemen hama yang efektif. Potensi ini dapat menjadi sumber pendapatan tambahan bagi masyarakat lokal serta mendukung upaya konservasi lingkungan melalui pemanfaatan sumber daya hayati dan biodiversitas secara non-destruktif di area konservasi.</p></abstract><kwd-group><kwd>keanekaragaman hayati</kwd><kwd>konservasi berkelanjutan</kwd><kwd>pakan lebah</kwd><kwd>Sumedang</kwd></kwd-group><custom-meta-group><custom-meta><meta-name>File created by JATS Editor</meta-name><meta-value><ext-link ext-link-type="uri" xlink:href="https://jatseditor.com" xlink:title="JATS Editor">JATS Editor</ext-link></meta-value></custom-meta><custom-meta><meta-name>issue-created-year</meta-name><meta-value>2025</meta-value></custom-meta></custom-meta-group></article-meta></front><body><sec><title>PENDAHULUAN</title><p>Taman Keanekaragaman Hayati (Taman Kehati) Kiarapayung, terletak di Kabupaten Sumedang, Jawa Barat, merupakan kawasan konservasi di luar kawasan hutan yang kaya akan keanekaragaman hayati. Dengan berbagai spesies flora dan fauna, termasuk spesies lokal, langka, dan endemik, taman ini menjadi pusat perhatian untuk upaya konservasi, pendidikan, dan penelitian lingkungan. Taman Kehati Kiarapayung memiliki potensi yang besar untuk dikembangkan sebagai destinasi ekowisata, memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap perekonomian masyarakat setempat melalui pariwisata berkelanjutan <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-14">(Kastolani, 2018)</xref>.</p><p>Salah satu spesies yang ada di Taman Kehati Kiarapayung adalah lebah madu Apis cerana Fabricius <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-4">(Asfiya et al., 2023)</xref>. Lebah yang endemik di sebagian besar Asia ini sangat penting bagi ekosistem karena berperan sebagai penyerbuk <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-24">(Ollerton et al., 2011)</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-22">(Noriega et al., 2018)</xref>. Keberadaan A. cerana tidak hanya menjaga keseimbangan alam, tetapi juga memiliki dampak ekonomi signifikan bagi masyarakat dengan membantu menciptakan lapangan kerja dan menghasilkan pendapatan melalui penjualan produk madu, yang pada akhirnya membantu mengurangi kemiskinan <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-16">(Kowalczuk et al., 2023)</xref>.</p><p>Namun, penelitian tentang budi daya lebah A. cerana di kawasan konservasi seperti Taman Kehati Kiarapayung masih sangat terbatas, terutama dalam mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan budi daya, seperti ketersediaan pakan dan dampak gangguan musuh alami. Selain itu, data terkait respons lebah madu A. cerana tehadap tantangan lingkungan di kawasan ini juga belum tersedia. Salah satu langkah awal dalam penelitian ini adalah penggunaan kotak sarang dan pemanfaatan lilin lebah dan bunga liar sebagai umpan. Penggunaan kotak sarang ini dirancang untuk mengevaluasi daya tarik lokasi terhadap lebah madu di kawasan tersebut.</p><p>Dengan pengelolaan yang tepat, budi daya A. cerana di Taman Kehati dapat mendukung upaya konservasi sekaligus meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat sekitar. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi potensi budi daya lebah madu A. cerana di Taman Kehati Kiarapayung, dengan fokus pada ketersediaan sumber pakan, potensi gangguan musuh alami, dan tantangan lingkungan lainnya.</p></sec><sec><title>METODOLOGI</title><p>Penelitian dilakukan di Taman Kehati Kiarapayung, yang terletak di Desa Sindangsari, Kecamatan Sukasari, Kabupaten Sumedang, Jawa Barat (6.9886° LS, 107.5682° BT). Taman Kehati Kiarapayung merupakan daerah berbukit dan gunung dengan ketinggian tempat berkisar 25-1,667 m dpl dan mencakup luas 15 hektar yang terbagi menjadi delapan blok tanam <xref ref-type="fig" rid="figure-1">Gambar 1</xref>.</p><sec><title>Pemasangan kotak sarang</title><p>Pada bulan Juni 2023, sebanyak 33 kotak sarang lebah dipasang di Taman Kehati Kiarapayung <xref ref-type="fig" rid="figure-1">Gambar 1</xref>. Kotak-kotak lebah ini berfungsi sebagai sarang bagi lebah madu A. cerana dan dilengkapi dengan bingkai-bingkai di dalamnya untuk membantu lebah membangun sisir madu. Terdapat dua tipe kotak yang digunakan, yaitu tipe A (kayu limbah buah, 40 cm × 25 cm × 25 cm) dan tipe B (kayu mahoni, 38 cm ×33,5 cm) <xref ref-type="fig" rid="figure-2">Gambar 2</xref>. Sebagai umpan, lilin lebah dan bunga liar ditempatkan di setiap bingkai untuk menarik lebah masuk. Pintu masuk kotak lebah disesuaikan dengan orientasi sarang alami dan tiang setinggi 80 cm digunakan sebagai penyangga. Selain itu, masyarakat sekitar juga memasang beberapa kotak lebah di Hutan Daerah Kiarapayung (HDK) sehingga total kotak lebah yang diamati menjadi 39.</p></sec><sec><title>Pengamatan perkembangan koloni lebah</title><p>Perkembangan koloni lebah diamati secara berkala setiap bulan selama periode penelitian (Juli 2023−Januari 2024). Parameter yang diamati meliputi jumlah koloni yang menghuni kotak sarang, jumlah sisir madu yang terbentuk, serta pola pertumbuhan koloni dari waktu ke waktu. Data ini dicatat melalui inspeksi visual langsung terhadap kotak sarang.</p><p>Observasi jenis-jenis tumbuhan yang menjadi pakan lebah dilakukan dengan mengikuti jalur-jalur yang ada di Taman Kehati. Flora yang dikunjungi lebah diidentifikasi berdasarkan aktivitas lebah yang terlihat mengumpulkan polen atau nektar dari bunga. Catatan dilakukan pada spesies tanaman dan bagian yang dimanfaatkan (nektar atau polen).</p></sec><sec><title>Pengamatan musuh alami</title><p>Pengamatan terhadap musuh alami lebah dilakukan melalui inspeksi langsung pada kotak sarang lebah dan lingkungannya. Setiap individu atau aktivitas yang berpotensi terhadap koloni lebah diidentifikasi dan dicatat lokasinya. Pengamatan ini dilakukan bersamaan dengan inspeksi perkembangan koloni.</p></sec></sec><sec><title>HASIL DAN PEMBAHASAN</title><sec><title>Sumber pakan lebah madu</title><p>Pengamatan lapangan menunjukkan preferensi lebah madu A. cerana terhadap beberapa jenis flora yang potensial sebagai sumber polen dan nektar, mencakup jenis-jenis tanaman kehutanan, tanaman perkebunan, tanaman pertanian, dan gulma. Total 50 spesies tanaman dan 24 famili yang menjadi pakan A. cerana. Famili Asteraceae, Bignoniaceae, Malvaceae dan Verbenaceae menyumbangkan sebagian besar sumber pakan A. cerana di Taman Kehati Kiarapayung  Table 1. Beberapa tumbuhan merupakan sumber nektar (N), polen (P), atau keduanya. Misalnya, Bouea oppositifolia dari Famili Anacardiaceae adalah sumber nektar, sementara Alstonia scholaris dari Famili Apocynaceae adalah sumber nektar dan polen. Tanaman kehutanan seperti kaliandra (Calliandra houstoniana) dan akor (Acacia mangium) dikenal sebagai produsen nektar yang baik. Hutan kaliandra dapat menghasilkan 250 liter madu di musim berbunga dari 70 koloni selama dua bulan <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-11">(Harianja et al., 2023)</xref>. Sementara itu, hutan tanaman Acacia mangium memiliki potensi menghasilkan madu rata-rata 1,2 kg per koloni per bulan <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-25">(Pribadi, 2016)</xref>.</p><fig id="figure-1" ignoredToc=""><label>Gambar 1</label><caption><p>Lokasi kotak sarang lebah dipasang di Taman Kehati Kiarapayung (blok merah) dan kotak sarang lebah yang dipasang oleh masyarakat di Hutan Daerah Kiarapayung (blok hijau). Beberapa blok, seperti blok 1, 3, 5, dan 6, tidak menunjukkan adanya aktivitas koloni lebah madu sepanjang periode pengamatan. Sebaliknya, blok 2, 4, 7, 8, dan HDK mencatat keberadaan koloni lebah <xref ref-type="table" rid="table-2">Table 2</xref>. Salah satunya adalah ketersediaan sumber pakan, yang berkurang drastis selama musim kemarau. Menurut data curah hujan, wilayah ini mengalami kekeringan dengan catatan 0 mm pada bulan Agustus dan September, serta hanya 9 mm pada Oktober (BMKG, tidak dipublikasikan). Kekurangan tanaman berbunga akibat curah hujan rendah dapat membatasi sumber nektar dan serbuk sari, yang merupakan kebutuhan pokok koloni lebah madu <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-15">(Koetz, 2013)</xref>. Selain itu, suhu tinggi selama musim kemarau juga memengaruhi perilaku mencari makan lebah A. cerana. Dalam kondisi ini, lebah pekerja cenderung tetap berada di sarang untuk menjaga suhu internal dan mengurangi aktivitas luar <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-10">(Gupta, 2021)</xref>.</p><p>Metode perangkap yang digunakan saat ini juga dapat berkontribusi terhadap rendahnya keberhasilan koloni bersarang. Perangkap berbentuk kotak yang dilengkapi dengan bingkai tidak sepenuhnya meniru kondisi alami habitat lebah A. cerana. Hal ini mengurangi peluang koloni untuk memilih kotak tersebut sebagai sarang. Sebagai arah penelitian di masa mendatang, dapat dipertimbangkan untuk mengembangkan metode perangkap kotak kosong tanpa bingkai di Taman Kehati Kiarapayung. Perangkap ini akan lebih menyerupai kondisi alami sarang lebah A. cerana di alam, seperti lubang pohon, celah batu, gua, bahkan rongga rumah manusia <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-13">(Kahono, 1992)</xref>. Pendekatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keberhasilan lebah A. cerana dalam bersarang dan mendukung perkembangan koloni secara optimal.</p><table-wrap id="table-2" ignoredToc=""><label>Table alami</title><p>Pengamatan terhadap musuh alami pada kotak sarang lebah madu mengidentifikasi tiga jenis utama, yaitu</p><list list-type="order"><list-item><p>Ulat lilin (Galleria mellonella): Ditemukan pada kotak sarang di blok 2, ulat lilin merupakan hama yang merusak sarang dengan memakan lilin, serbuk sari, dan madu <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-13">(Kahono, 1992)</xref>; </p></list-item><list-item><p>Semut (Camponotus sp., Dolichoderus sp.): Teridentifikasi pada kotak sarang di blok, 4, 6, dan 8, semut dapat mengganggu aktivitas lebah madu, terutama saat populasinya tinggi. Sebagai contoh, kehadiran semut di sekitar kotak lebah di blok 4 kemungkinan menjadi salah satu alasan mengapa koloni lebah meninggalkan kotak tersebut. Semut diketahui sering membuat lebah takut dan menghambat pengumpulan nektar dan polen <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-13">(Kahono, 1992)</xref>; </p></list-item><list-item><p>Tawon (Vespa sp.): Ditemukan pada kotak sarang di blok 6 dan 8, tawon merupakan predator langsung bagi lebah madu. Serangan tawon dapat mengakibatkan kematian lebah dalam jumlah besar <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="BIBR-13">(Kahono, 1992)</xref>.</p></list-item></list><p>Ketiga jenis musuh alami tersebut dapat menjadi ancaman bagi populasi lebah madu di Taman Kehati Kiarapayung.
